-The 161 Extreme team finished
their season with a 38th place at the 2006 USA Junior Olympic
Girls' Volleyball Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. The ladies
played some great teams throughout the tournament. After the
first day of pool, the team was 1-1. The team played exceptionally
well - taking a game from first place seed, Willowbrook. All
the matches on day two went to a third deciding game, with only
one match ending in the North Stars advantage. The team finished
day two with an overall record of 2-3 (match play), and 7-7
(game play). Day three began a new pool for the team. North
Stars finished the pool 1-1, taking second place. Their challenge
match, for seeding into the tournament, took place against Nebraska
Juniors. North Stars played well, but lost the close match.
The final day of play began with Rockwood Thunder. The North
Stars dominated throughout the match and took the victory. The
last match of the tournament was against a very competitive
team, North Dallas, which the North Stars came up short - but
played well. The 161 Extreme had a terrific season! We are proud
of your great accomplishments. Way
to go NORTH STARS!!
